Stephen Harper and the Con Klown Pushers

Well I see Stephen Harper has returned from his disastrous attempt to try to force Obama to approve the Keystone pipeline.

And that after shooting himself in both legs by insulting the American President, the long ride back from New York City was more like Napoleon's retreat from Moscow than Lincoln's march to victory.

Stephen Harper and the Dirty War on Canadians

Well I see Stephen Harper and his ghastly Con regime have stepped up their dirty war on Justin Trudeau.

Now he's not just a junkie, he's selling pot to kiddies.

The Many Ghastly Faces of Dean Del Mastro

Well I'm glad that Dean Del Mastro just can't wait for his trial to begin.

The lawyer for former Conservative MP Dean Del Mastro says his client wants to go to trial "as quickly as possible" to face four charges laid against him by Elections Canada. "Mr. Del Mastro is confident the trial process will clear his name so he can get back to work," the lawyer said.

Because frankly I can't either eh?

Del Mastro and his official campaign agent Richard McCarthy are accused of wilfully overspending during the campaign and of submitting documents to Elections Canada that they knew or should have known were false. Del Mastro faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Stephen Harper and the Con Planet Burners

You couldn't ask for a scarier example of what Stephen Harper is doing to Canada, and what he is planning to do to the planet, than seeing how him and his ghastly Con regime reacted to this grim scientific warning.

The world's leading climate scientists have set out in detail for the first time how much more carbon dioxide humans can pour into the atmosphere without triggering dangerous levels of climate change – and concluded that more than half of that global allowance has been used up.

Not by acknowledging the dangers of climate change they have so long denied. But by attacking their political enemies.

The Day Stephen Harper Declared War on Obama

OMG. Sound the humiliation alert siren. I just KNEW that Stephen Harper's deranged Crusade to try to get Obama to aprove the Keystone Pipeline was going to end badly.

I knew the writing was on the wall when his army of Con lobbyists was laughed out of Washington after trying to fool the Americans into believing that the Big Oil boys in Alberta were model environmentalists.

And that Great Green Leader was the next best thing to Mother Nature...

Dean Del Mastro Charged by Elections Canada !!!!

I'd almost forgotten Dean Del Mastro, Boss Harper's parliamentary secretary, he's been away for so long.

All I can remember is that he was always blaming others for ethical lapses eh?

So I really can't wait to see how he handles this one.

When the Cons Start Attacking Themselves

Well I suppose it was inevitable. The Cons have spent their years in power attacking others like rabid hyenas. It's the only thing they know how to do eh?

So now that they're in trouble, and Stephen Harper is crazy desperate, I'm really not surprised that they've started attacking themselves.

Stephen Harper and the Burning Hypocrisy of the Cons

It must have been a frightening apparition in New York City today. Like a scary blimp in the Macy's parade eh?

Stephen Harper as Great Mother Leader, posing as a friend of women and children, while floating on a cloud of toxic hypocrisy.

The Incredible Shrinking Steve Harper

Golly. If Stephen Harper's stature on the world stage keeps shrinking we're going to have to swap that magnifying glass for a microscope eh?

Yesterday we found out how low he has sunk. When the New York Times accused him of muzzling scientists in a monstrous attempt to "guarantee public ignorance."

Today we found out how small he has shrunk.

Stephen Harper and the Neverending Torture of Omar Khadr

I knew that something was terribly wrong when the very first thing he did when he came to power was go after the equality of women.

I still remember the chill that went through me, when I realized we were now in the hands of some weird ideologue, with cold dead eyes, and a REALLY kinky streak.

A horrible bully who got his kicks from seeing fear in the eyes of others, and would try to drag us into his dark dungeon, so he could do dirty things to us, and the country we loved.

But it wasn't until I saw what he did to the Canadian child soldier Omar Khadr, that I realized that Stephen Harper was an absolute MONSTER.

The New York Times Goes After the Harper Regime

Uh oh. It looks like Stephen Harper has been exposed. He's been trying to fool the Americans into thinking he's a REAL environmentalist, so Obama will give him his precious Keystone pipeline.

But being called a tongue biter, or a muzzler, by the New York Times, isn't going to help.

Stephen Harper's Outrageous Prorogation Vacation

Well at least now we know another reason Stephen Harper shutdown Parliament. Not just so he could dodge questions about that sordid Senate scandal.

Or take a long paid vacation before he went over the deep end.

But also so he could travel across the country, and launch his new/nouveau re-election campaign.

By shamelessly buying votes with OUR money.

Scottish Independence and Some Lessons for Canadians

Well for a brief moment today I was able to escape the grim, grey, reality of Harperland. My body was in soggy Toronto, but my heart was in Edinburgh.

Because one year from now Scotland will hold a referendum to determine whether it wants to become an independent country.

And as a son of that small but proud land, not only does that historic vote move me deeply, coming as it will 700 years after the Battle of Bannockburn when the Scottish people first won their independence.

Only to lose it again and again.

I see in what's happening there some lessons for progressives in Canada.

Obamacare, the Koch Brothers, and the Harper Cons

It's a frightening and truly disturbing sight. The Republicans in the House of Representatives threatening to shut down the American government. Again.

With one vote on Friday, the Republican-led House launched the latest spending battle in Congress -- one that could bring a government shutdown in less than two weeks. By a 230-189 tally almost strictly on party lines, the House passed a short-term government spending plan that would eliminate all funding for Obamacare.

Just to try to kill a bill that would provide millions of Americans with health care they otherwise couldn't afford.

Rona Ambrose, and the Con War on the Sick

Well I see it didn't take long for the new/nouveau Con Health Minister Rona Ambrose to show her true colours.

Health Minister Rona Ambrose is slamming her own department's decision to provide heroin to certain addicts under a special access program and insisting it won't be allowed to happen again.

"Our government takes seriously the harm caused by dangerous and addictive drugs," Ambrose said. "These drugs tear families apart, promote criminal behaviour, and destroy lives.

By suggesting that doctors are acting like drug dealers.

Stephen Harper and the Great Economist Leader Myth

It's one of the most depressing things about living in Harperland eh?

The way Great Monstrous Leader commits one democratic atrocity after the other, but gets away with it by claiming he's the best leader to manage the economy.

And so many Canadians still swallow that fraudulent myth, hook, line, and SINKER.

When in fact Stephen Harper has the poorest economic growth record of any Prime Minister since R.B. Bennett, back in the dark days of the Great Depression.

Mike Duffy's Mysterious Visit to the Harper PMO

Oh my Satanic Sherlock. This PMO mystery just keeps getting more and more entertaining, in a nightmarish sort of way.

Yesterday we found out that although the paper trail was lost, or consumed in the hellish fires humming shredders of the Con regime, Mike Duffy did visit the PMO as the Senate scandal was glowing red.

But the Cons won't tell us who Old Duff met with during the 50 minutes he was in that monstrous place. And today the opposition was demanding answers.

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

The Senate Scandal: How Did Harper Not Know?

Well as you know it's been hard to know what went on in the PMO as the Mike Duffy scandal was breaking. And the Cons were in a frenzy trying to cover it up.

Because the PMO operatives would rather cut their own tongues off than squeal. And the paper trail has gone missing.

But luckily for us, there's still the visitor's logs.

The Day Joe Oliver Collided with Robert Redford

OMG. How embarrassing. I see that old Con man Joe Oliver just won't give up. Once he tried to fool us into thinking that the water from the tar ponds would be safe to drink.

Now he's in New York trying to scam the Americans into believing that the Cons are real environmentalists.

The Gun Lobby Goes After the Harper Cons

Well it seemed like a good idea at the time eh?

Kill the long gun registry, screw those dead women, get the RCMP to hide the cost of destroying the records.

And pleasure his rabid base.

Because he thought they would be easily satisfied...

But unfortunately for Great Majority Hunter Leader they weren't.

Harperland: The Horror and the Resistance

If you want to know what Stephen Harper and his monstrous Con regime have done to this country, all you had to do was look around you today to see it in all its horror.

A Parliament shutdown by a Prime Minister to prevent the opposition from asking questions about a sordid scandal involving his own office.

Hundreds of scientists demonstrating outside, and all across the country, to demand that the government stop muzzling them.

General Alexander's Scary Star Trek Fantasy

He is the man most responsible for taking the surveillance state into a new and even more sinister Orwellian age.

The General who while working in Iraq decided that instead of just monitoring terrorists and suspects he should monitor EVERYONE. And as the head of the National Security Agency is now doing the same to us.

But who knew that Keith Alexander had turned his Information Dominance Center into a Star Trek fantasy?

The Strange and Scary History of Stephen Harper

One of the reasons we find ourselves living in the sinister darkness of Harperland, is because too many Canadians know nothing about the tortured career or weird nature of the man who would change this country beyond recognition.

But would do it in such a shadowy, stealthy, incremental manner that many would not notice what was happening until it was too late.

Like the proverbial frog in the pot, who thought it was having a warm bath and ended up getting cooked.

So I'm glad that Mark Kennedy has written a series of stories on Stephen Harper's life, his rise to absolute power, and the devastating damage he's doing to Canada.

Voyager One and Our Message to the Aliens

It's amazing to think that this little toy that we earthlings made is now sailing out of our solar system.

The tireless Voyager I spacecraft, launched in the disco era and now more than 11 billion miles from Earth, has become the first man-made object to enter interstellar space, scientists said Thursday. Interstellar space, scientists now know with certainty, is dense with particles, and the place is literally hissing. Or maybe you could say it’s whistling in the dark.

And even more amazing to wonder what might happen if it ever encountered an alien civilization. And they heard the message we sent them.

My Kind of Way to Fight the Quebec Charter of Values

I really like this photo. And I'm glad some Quebecers took to the streets today to protest against the PQ's exclusionary so-called Charter of Quebec Values.

And although I am an atheist if I had been in Montreal today I might have marched with them. Because I will not let anyone discriminate blatantly against others for no good reason.

Or in the PQ's case for cheap electoral purposes.

Pamela Wallin and the Sad Tale of the Monkey Senator

Oh goody. Hooray !!!! We're all more than $100-thousand dollars richer (divided by 35 million). And all thanks to Pammy !!!!

Senator Pamela Wallin says she has sent personal cheques totalling $100,600.98 plus interest to the federal government to repay expense claims as ordered by a Senate committee last month.

And just in the nick of time...

Stephen Harper and the Con War on the Truth

If you want to understand what Stephen Harper is trying to do to Canada you can't focus on each individual atrocity he commits, no matter how painful the bite.

You have to focus on the whole ghastly web he is spinning, to understand that his main target is the TRUTH.

Take this latest report for example.

The newly released numbers from the 2011 census reveal a wide, demographic chasm between the nation’s poor — those whose annual income falls well below the $27,000 median figure for an individual— and the richest in Canada.

Not only does it show that the Canadian dream is just a myth, and that Stephen Harper is no economist.

It also turns out we can't fully trust the figures.

Stephen Harper and the Great Pipeline Crusade

Well he may be losing his battle to convince Obama to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, but I see nothing will stop Stephen Harper from launching yet another oily crusade.

First he will conquer or bribe British Columbia.

A parade of cabinet ministers and senior bureaucrats will head to British Columbia starting next week as part of a major push to mollify opponents of building oil pipelines to the West Coast, CBC News has learned. Prime Minister Stephen Harper is signalling he intends to make progress on proposals to connect Alberta's oilsands with ports in British Columbia and the lucrative Asian markets beyond.

And then he will take the East !!!!

Stephen Harper and the Wonderland Nightmare

He must think he can get away with anything. He must think he can say anything and Canadians will believe him. One moment he's the Phantom of Parliament, the next moment he's Alice in Wonderland.

For there he was announcing that he will prorogue Parliament, again, to outline his  "new priorities."

Even though most Canadians are opposed.

And EVERYBODY knows he's just doing it to avoid answering questions about the Senate scandal. Like whether he will testify in court if Mike Duffy summons him.

How the Quebec Charter of Values Ruined My Perfect Day

It was a wonderfully warm sunny day in Toronto today.

A great day off to relax and pretend that summer is still here.

I went to the beach, I spotted my second Monarch butterfly of the season in some flowers near the Island Club House, and I got to pet the baby alpaca at Far Enough Farm.

In short, it was almost the perfect day eh? Until I got home, a friend from Montreal called me and said: "I suppose you're going to write something about the Quebec Charter of Values."

And I felt like collapsing and screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Stephen Harper and the Dangerous Senator Duffy

Well I see that the former Law Clerk of Parliament believes that Mike Duffy may have committed no crime.

Rob Walsh, who was Parliament's top legal adviser until 2012, says in theory, a criminal offence would occur if money was given to a senator in exchange for some kind of benefit. But in case of the Duffy cheque, Walsh can't see what benefit Wright would have received for repaying Duffy's expenses.

Which is not what RCMP Cpl. Greg Horton believes:

Stephen Harper and the Last Days of the Con Mob

Golly. Last month I told you how the changes in the PMO meant that Boss Harper was preparing to declare war on his enemies.

Now here comes Scott Reid to back up my claim.

By comparing Great Desperate Leader to Sonny Corleone !!!!!

The Ad Campaign that Will Finish off the Keystone Pipeline

Well as you know, Stephen Harper is trying to convince Obama to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, by claiming he's serious about reducing green house gas emissions.

And as you also know, I believe the pipeline will be one of the casualties of a missile strike on Syria, as Obama tries to repair the damage to his political base.

Especially since Big Oil now claims it doesn't need it.

But this is the ad campaign that should finish it off...

Stephen Harper and the Joy of Destruction

I doubt I would have spent half the time I do writing about Stephen Harper, if I hadn't taken a course years ago, and learned about his three most disturbing character flaws.

One, his deranged belief that he owns the truth, as Preston Manning warned us long ago.

Two, his inability to feel the pain of others, as he himself admits.

And three, and most ominously, the savage satisfaction he gets from destroying things rather than creating them.

Will Obama's War Cost Stephen Harper the Keystone Pipeline?

Well at least we now know what Stephen Harper expects for his strong support of Obama's missile strike on Syria.

He wants Obama to do the right thing and give him his Keystone XL pipeline

Stephen Harper's Con Klown Summit Show

I must admit when I saw Vladimir Putin getting ready to greet Stephen Harper I wasn't sure whether the Russian Dictator was going to shake the Canadian Dictator's hand.

Or slap him.

And all I could think of was, that'll teach them to hold ANYTHING in Russia. And who's the designated food taster?

Because from the way Great Leader is ballooning, no doubt from the stress of the Senate scandal, and the way he's probably going to attack the buffet table, I don't think Old Duff can handle it eh?

John McCain and the Coming War on Iran

It really is the stuff of nightmares. Obama caught in a trap of his own making, and John McCain helping him to dig himself into an even bigger hole.

By getting a U.S. Senate committee to back Obama's punitive missile strike.

In return for an even bigger war:

The Con Mob and the Missing Paper Trail

If and when Stephen Harper and his Con gang are ever hauled before a judge and asked to explain themselves, the first question they're going to have to answer is this one:

Why when by all accounts the PMO was convulsed by the Senate scandal, is there no paper trail?

80-year-old Woman Tasered in Ontario

I must admit I didn't think that police in Otario could stoop any lower than the public execution of Sammy Yatim.

For its senseless brutality stunned me. But then so does this.

Ontario's police watchdog is investigating after officers deployed a Taser on an 80-year-old woman in Mississauga, Ont.

Obama's War, the Divided Left, and the Syrian Apocalypse

It will be about a week before we know whether Obama will get to fire his missiles at Syria.

But what already painfully obvious is that just his threat to launch them is causing havoc in the ranks of his own supporters.

Because by now I think I've heard all of these arguments for or against.

Just from my own friends. And the one that scares me the most is this one:

Why It's Time to Chase the Dream in Harperland

And so ended, unofficially at least, the summer of 2013.

Another Labour Day parade has marched into memory.

The Snowbirds have drawn a giant heart in the sky and departed.

The boats are going home, the birds are flying south.

But what a day it was eh? Starting with this amazing march.

A New Union Declares War on the Con Regime

In a country where so many have lived on their knees for so long. In a country where so many have looked on helplessly as the Harperite cult destroys everything that once made us proud to be Canadians.

It's really great to see that Canada's newest union is declaring war on the Con regime.

Why Obama's Blink Means Parliament Should Be Recalled

Golly.Thank goodness for small mercies. It looks as if it's going to be a peaceful long weekend after all.

Apart from the roar of fighter jets flying low over my house on final approach to the nearby air show. Because there's nothing like being woken up by a CF-18 eh?

But at least the big Syrian Air Show has been temporarily grounded. Obama blinked, and that show has been postponed.
