Stephen Harper's Cowardly Closet and the Big Lie

Over the last year I have used this image and others like it a lot, for reasons I will explain later.

But on the one-year anniversary of that crazed gunman's assault on Parliament Hill, and the cowardly killing of Corporal Nathan Cirillo, I just want to say this:

When Stephen Harper claimed that his security detail had rushed him into that closet.

It was just another Big Lie.

“Where is he?” the constable asked, meaning Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Fingers pointed towards the northeast corner of the room, where a door inset in the wood-panelled wall stood slightly ajar. The closet is barely four feet in each direction, further cramped by conduit and wiring panels on the walls. With the door closed, it is completely dark and the only sound is a low hum of a cooling fan.

Harper stood inside, facing the door. He seemed calm, not frightened, the constable recalls. “He was waiting for whoever was supposed to protect him,” the constable said. “His eyes were looking at me like he wanted to know what was going on. “I looked at him and said, ‘Are you OK?’ He looked at me and said, ‘Yes.’ ”

There was no security detail.

Here, the constable’s account differs from the story that has evolved about that day — that his security team had followed protocol by forcing Harper into the closet for his safety.

He apparently made his own way into the closet, with the help of two members of his staff.

The constable says he learned that, moments after the first shots, Harper had been spirited into the small electrical utility closet not by security but by staff members – possibly Myles Atwood, the prime minister’s special assistant – and an Ontario senator whose name he does not recall.

But even if I had known that, I might have forgiven Harper, if he had been honest...

And admitted he was scared shitless, and labouring under the paranoid delusion that Canada would collapse if he wasn't Prime Minister.

I might have forgiven him, if he hadn't used that attack to denigrate his political opponents...

Or used it for crass political purposes...

Or if I hadn't got the distinct impression that he would have welcomed another attack, so he could try to scare Canadians into voting for him...

And turn us into a police state.

So all I will say is that this picture of Nathan Cirillo is for me an unforgettable portrait of a humble Canadian hero...

Standing there in his kilt only moments before he was murdered.

Having volunteered to stand there for hours, to honour all those other soldiers who gave their lives for their country.

And was by all accounts a really nice guy...

So I am glad that he will be honoured today along with Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent.

Who also served his country faithfully and well.

And as long as I live I will never forget the bravery of Cirillo's little boy...

Who broke very decent heart in this country, with his show of courage.

But as for Stephen Harper, he was indeed nothing but liar, a bully, and a coward.

Or a chicken...

And all I can say about him is, Great Polar Bear God of the Great White North, was that feathered creature really our Prime Minister for almost TEN years?

How did that happen? What a nightmare.

And good riddance to bad rubbish...

Look I'm still disgusted I believe IMHO that Harper had everything to do with that gentleman's death. I can't explain it yet but, I must reign myself in or I would make comments that would sicken real people.

Cirillo I salute you and all soldiers Harper has to answer for this trickery debauchery and false flag operation.

From 2014:

Meanwhile, Harper was hiding in a storage closet just steps away from the Conservative caucus’s meeting room, sources confirmed to the Globe and Mail on Friday. Harper’s security detail was not with him at the time.

Is it possible that Conservative budget cuts lead to the death of Nathan Cirillo? We'll probably never know for sure, but let's face it: a world of austerity is mean, dangerous and selfish.
I'm just glad the nightmare of Stephen Harper is over.
Let's hope the Justin Trudeau Liberals don't f*#k it up.

I blame Harper for this man's death. If he hadn't reacted to a person peeing on the cenotaph by posting a guard there ( for very political reasons) instead of making the culprit scrub it clean with a pail of soapy water and get charged with mischief Corporal Cirillo would still be alive.

And what were Harper's last words in what passed for a concession speech on Monday night? He requested that we pray for our men and women in uniform.

Hypocritical prick.

Steve just didn't get it. its o.k. he's gone.
What remains is his Bill C-51. The bill he did not want to have parliamentary oversight on because he said they couldn't trust the opposition M.P.s with that sort of information. Well the joke is on him. The federal Liberals Are now the government and he nor any one of his government is on any oversight committee. What goes around, comes around. Steve must have thought he was going to be P.M. for life. Ah, well the best laid plans and all that.............
Looking forward to seeing the bill repealed.

hi Raven....I don't think it was a false flag operation. What I do know for sure is that Harper and his Cons hadn't taken the necessary steps to protect Parliament Hill. And although another soldier had been killed by some maniac two days before those sentries were left completely unprotected. But despite that Harper had the nerve to try to turn that attack into an attack on his enemies. The man has no shame....

hi anon....yes, even about that he lied, and shamed himself in the eyes of the world. He is, was, and always will be, the Closet Prime Minister....

hi anon...it's a good question, for those ghastly Cons couldn't have been more hypocritical. Posing as our defenders, while cutting the RCMP budget, letting our military rust, and of course betraying our veterans in the most miserable and cowardly manner. Do you have any idea how many soldiers committed suicide? I write for all of them...

hi anon...you're right, I had forgotten the reason those guards were posted there. It was for crass political purposes. That moron punk should have had his head dunked in a bucket of piss/ And placing those sentries there in such an unprotected position at a time when he was stirring up tensions made them easy targets...

hi political junkie...I did indeed notice that, and that he followed that up with a hurried God bless Canada. I'm sure our veterans and wounded soldiers his government treated so miserably really enjoyed that one. What a miserable hypocrite. But the Great Polar Bear God of the Great White North did indeed bless us... ;)

Cpl. Nathan Cirillo and his young son both displayed more courage than Stephen Harper could ever dream of having.
